Ged McCarthy, Founder
Ged McCarthy was a Founding Member of SEIA (Solar Energy Industries Association) and President from 2009 to 2011. Ged orchestrated the media, email and petition campaign in NSW to challenge the new O’Farrell Government’s decision to retrospectively change the Feed In Tariff after axeing the Solar Bonus Scheme. And it was then that he realised that while Industry Associations are all well and good, it is people power that changes the face of policy and politics. Politicians listen to voters and organisations which give those voters a voice.
Ged has been a solar installer for over 10 years and has designed and installed indigenous desert arrays, stand alone solar systems for rural householders, grid connect systems for city dwellers and everything in between. He is a passionate proponent of solar and renewables and a respected advocate of sustainable renewable policies Australia wide.
